Flora Institute of Technology was established in the year 2011 by Hon. Dr. Atul Padalkar. The Institute is approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), and Government of Maharashtra and is permanently affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), complying with all the norms and standards of engineering education. The Institutehas been established with the aim of providing quality higher education on par with international standards. It persistently seeks and adopts innovative methods to improve the quality of higher education on a consistent basis. The campus has a natural beauty with students from all corners of the India.
Experienced and learned teachers are strongly encouraged to nurture the students. The highly motivated youngsters on the campus are a constant source of pride. Many of our students, who pursue their MS in foreign universities, bring high quality to their work and esteem to India and have done us proud. With steady steps, we continue our march forward. The Institute offers Undergraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Civil Engineering; Postgraduate programs in Mechanical Engineering (Design) and Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering). The Institute has the state of art infrastructure which includes spacious and well ventilated classrooms, well equipped laboratories, computer centre and Central library. The rooms are well furnished, well lit and air. The Institute have Seminar hall which is well equipped to be used for various academic and extracurricular activities. The Institute has the indoor, outdoor sports and gymnasium facility for the students. Medical facility is provided to students through the health center. The facility of cafeteria for students and staff is available within the campus. Career counseling and guidance is provided to the students. To impart quality education to students the Institute have collaborations with various industries and industry experts.
He obtained Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with Ph. D. in area of ‘Alternative Refrigerants’ under the guidance of Dr. Devotta . Dr. Devotta had been associated with work which was recognized for the award of Noble prize to IPCC in 2007. Started carrier as Lecture at Rajarambapu Institute of Technology, Islampur. Subsequently, he has served various prestigious institutions in capacity of Dean, Principal, Professor and Assistant Professor in Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), Sinhgad College of Engineering, Pune (2003-2011) AISSMS College of Engineering, Pune, (1996 - 2003) respectively. He has been instrumental in starting Technology department in Savitribai Phule Pune University. He is associated actively with key positions at various technological Institutions and technical bodies like Indian Science Congress, National Institute of Virology, Pune, ASHRAE, ISHRAE, Institution of Engineers (I) and Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), New Delhi as Advisor, Member and Life Member. He had also worked as the Chairman, ISTE Maharashtra & Goa, and President, Engineering Sciences, Indian Science Congress. His contributions particularly development of room air conditioners with HC-290 and handbook on good servicing of room air conditioners under the aegis of German Technical Cooperation (GIZ), Germany has been recognised widely in the field of Engineering and Industrial Research. The work of development of hydrocarbon technology in air conditioners has been appreciated by UNEP and International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR), Paris. He has worked as consultant for corporate houses like GIZ, Germany, Blue Star, Thermax Ltd., Godrej Appliances Ltd., India. He provides technical support for design and development of products to business houses. He has published more than seventy research papers in the conference proceedings, bulletins and journals of national and international repute. The important publications include “Performance Assessment of Air Conditioners Using Propane” appeared in Official Journal of Centro Studi Galileo (CSG) and European Energy Center (EEC), Special International Issue (ISI), UNEP, 2010. The article entitled “Performance Assessment of Air Conditioners with HC290” appeared in the Bulletin of the IIR, 2010 is another land mark in his achievements. The same work has been published in Spanish and French languages.
